Last time I was visiting my mother in England for a weekend, we took the Warwick Castle tour. On the castle grounds, there was a single duck, being fed some bread by a toddler. After he ran out of bread, he tried to catch the duck. Probably just wanted to pet her, but probably would have hurt her in the process. Ever wonder why toddler toys are always solid plastic with no moving parts? He ran after her with his badly coordinated toddler steps, but he couldn't catch her. If he had, I would have intervened. His handler repeatedly called after him to "leave the duck alone", but since when do toddlers listen?
After several more minuted of this, the mother finally strapped the toddler into her doublewide stroller.
After that, the cute duck was free to go about her business of begging for food. She would go up to a group of tourists sitting on the lawn and look at one of the humans as if to say "Hey, you guys got any food for me?" Usually, they would throw her some bread that she would scurry to pick up and gulp down. Then she would beeline back to the same group and resume looking at the generous human. "Thanks. Got any more?"
So. Cute.
